1, in the inventory of magnesium oxide, never different corners, different positions (no less than 3,) take out magnesium oxide sample 100g each, and mixed evenly.

2. Accurately weigh 100g of magnesium oxide powder from the mixed powder and put it in a beaker of constant weight and drying. Add 400g of pure water and make it completely moist.

3. Put the cup into a drying box with a set temperature (110℃), bake for more than 2 hours, and then turn the oven to 150℃ to dry the sample to a constant weight.

Activity calculation method: Activity content of magnesium oxide = [(W -- 100) /45] X100%

Where, 100 is the sample weight before hydration; W is the weight of sample after hydration; 45 is the conversion factor.

Note: To obtain a more accurate value, take 3 copies of 100g magnesium oxide for testing, add the resulting active content values, and divide by 3.

What to look out for:

① In the process of heating, avoid the slurry splashing out of the beaker;

② The drying time should be as long as possible to ensure the thorough evaporation of water.
